On September 17, we are opening our Fall program: a light supper at 6:00 p.m.; classes for all ages beginning at 7:00 p.m. Ministry teams will also meet and there will be time and space for people to meet and talk. Pastor Nathan Lewis and two teacher aides will lead Kids’ Quest, a study of the stories of the Patriarchs. Children will master the details of the biblical accounts, memorizing key verses for each Patriarch and enjoying interactive exercises in age specific groups. Joe Pope is leading Map Quest for youth (Middle School through High School). Teens will read and discuss “Do Hard Things,” written by the Harris twins, founders of the youth movement, “Rebelution,” . Teens will be challenged to make their life count for the glory of Christ, gaining confidence as members of the church and the kingdom of God. An adult Bible Study will meet using “Let’s Study Mark,” part of the Banner of Truth series, “Let’s Study.” This volume is written by Sinclair Ferguson. A second Adult discussion group will use N.T. Wright’s “Simply Christian,” to explore the main aspects of Christianity. This group will view video clips of Wright, read his book, and discuss the biblical implications. Look for the brochure and upcoming announcements about this new opportunity for us to grow in Christ and to deepen our fellowship at Evergreen.
