The Evergreen Deacons regularly assist the members of our community, seeking to relieve needs. The Evergreen congregation generously gives toward the support of those in need within the congregation and throughout the Portland metro. Evergreen works with her sister congregations in the Portland metro to serve in the name of Christ, believing that the gospel changes everything.
We work with the following two local organizations:
Kindred Partners: Creating relational networks to connect churches, schools, businesses, nonprofits, and the city to support vulnerable children and families. Connecting people to people. -in Washington County, Oregon.
Sunshine Pantry: Evergreen regularly collects food, school supplies and household items dispensed by this local charity in Beaverton.
Evergreen members are regularly encouraged to serve in the name of Christ through charities connected to their employers, schools, and neighborhoods. Through these connections we not only find tactful opportunities to share the gospel but even more so, to live according to the gospel that has transformed us. The gospel changes everything! Most recently Evergreen youth have distributed First Aid Kits to people living on the streets. The congregation has recently invited Shared Hope International to present its work in stopping the sex trafficking of women and girls in the Portland metro and throughout the world.
