Evergreen has been multiplying congregations in Oregon since 1992. Evergreen is a member of the Northwest Church Planting Network, working with sister congregations to select evangelists, geographic targets and to raise funds. We believe that the starting of new congregations is the more effective way to connect individuals and communities to Jesus and to his holy gospel.
Evergreen uses three models of church planting: 1) The Parachute; 2) The Multi-site; and 3) The Cluster.
The parachute model allows us to place a mission in a targeted community supported with ample staff and funds, to operate more or less on its own with off site over-site and coaching.
The multi-site model allows us to employ one staff and one treasury to serve multiple locations.
The cluster model allows us to employ one staff and one treasury to start multiple congregations at one site. (Read more about the cluster model.)
Evergreen is a member of the Presbyterian Church in America, a church enthusiastically planting new missions in the USA and throughout the world.
