Chehalem Valley Presbyterian Church

The Youth have been meeting the first and third Sundays at 5:00 P.M. with Pastor Lewis, who has been presenting his lecture series, “Theology 101.” Teens are also meeting each Saturday evening at the Beaverton site at 5:00 P.M. to join an outreach team planning to host a new gathering of neighbors. A variety of tasks from playing in the worship band to food preparation are available for teens looking for a service opportunity. By the way, can you identify the characters in the photo? Our model student - the goal for every member of our youth group. Seriously, Tyler joined the Guadalajara Mission team investing his spring break 2007 in the street children of Santa Ana Tepetitlan and la Floresta. Tyler also is one of the sound technicians at Chehalem Valley Presbyterian Church. He is representative of our youth plugging in to real service and outreach.

Rachel is one of our senior youth group members. She has helped us to chart the course of our missional emphasis in the group. Evergreen teens do real, significant ministry in our church and community. Rachel plays the piano in Sunday morning worship at our sister congregation, Evergreen in Beaverton, at assisted living centers, and at the Saturday outreach. She has joined our mission team to Guadalajara, and to the Portland Rescue Mission. Other teens have followed her lead.
