Youth meet on the first and third Sundays of the month at 5:00 P.M. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Newberg. Youth from Evergreen Presbyterian Church in Beaverton and Chehalem Valley Presbyterian Church in Newberg meet to play games and to eat.
Pastor Nathan Lewis is leading a discussion and series of lectures titled, “Theology 101.” Brief introductions to these lectures are posted on Youtube.
Upcoming lectures include: Gospel 101; Missions 101; Sexuality 101; Calling and Vocations 101; College 101; Prayer 101; Bible Study 101.
Our youth participate in Reformed Youth Movement (RYM), which hosts an annual week-long. The next camp will be at Suttle Lake United Methodist Camp, near Sisters, Oregon. The dates are June 16-20. RYM workshops include, “Justification 101,” “Sanctification 101,” “Preparing for College,” “Christian Worldview,” “Music, Media and Pop Culture,” and more. Recreation includes waterskiing, mountain climbing, hiking, swimming, volleyball, canooing….Teens from the Pacific Northwest gather at RYM and so our youth have the opportunity to increase their fellowship.
Annually the youth group hosts short term missions. 2008 projects include the annual Guadalajara team and a work project on Mt. Hood at Hoodland Chapel.
