Give

At Evergreen Presbyterian Church we believe that we honor the Lord with the “first fruits” (Proverbs 3:9) of all our labor.  We encourage you to give cheerfully, generously, and faithfully to the many ministries and mission of the church.  Giving options include…

Place Gifts in Offering Bags

We invite you to regularly participate in giving as an important part of our worship service, as we show honor to God with the first parts of all our wealth.

Mail contributions to the Church Office

If you prefer, you can mail your contribution to the church in care of our Treasurer, Larry Wing:

Give Online vie eCheck or Credit/Debit Card

If you decide to use our online giving platform, Evergreen encourages you to use the “eCheck”  payment option from a checking or savings account.  We also allow giving via debit or credit cards like Visa, Mastercard, and Discover, although these have a higher fee associated with them.  We would encourage you, though, to not use credit cards unless you plan to pay off your card in full each month. We are very debt-averse at Evergreen and do not want to contribute or encourage anyone going further into debt.

Use the Evergreen Online Giving page to set recurring or one-time giving via eCheck or Debit/Credit Card.

Stock and Asset Donations

Donating stock or other assets that have appreciated in value may provide potential tax benefits.

When you give appreciated assets like stock – rather than just cash – to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations like Evergreen, you are generally exempt from paying capital gains tax.  It is a good way to contribute to the church while maximizing the resources entrusted to us.  If you would like to donate stock to Evergreen, please contact Larry Wing.

Consult with your financial planner or tax advisor before making a stock donation to Evergreen to determine how/if the potential tax advantages described here apply to your specific situation.

Required Minimum Distribution

If you need to take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) or are taking a regular distribution from your IRA, consider using the Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) option to give to Evergreen, and not increase your tax liability due to your IRA distribution. Contact Larry Wing if you have any questions.
